13. Juli 2008 - The fifth race of the Cascade Cycling Classic in Oregon/USA finished with the third victory of Kristin Armstrong. The road race over 113 km was the toughest stage of this competition series. Already on the first kilometers they have to climb up and in the final climb to the Mt. Bachelor ski resort the wheat was seperated from the chaff. "Coming up the climb it was only the five of us," said Armstrong. "I made a really hard attack and no one came with me." Armstrong claimed victory, finishing 30 sec aheah of Julie Beveridge (CAN). Felicia Gomez (CAN) took the third place.
Before the sixth and the last stage is Kristin Armstrong clearly in the lead of the overall ranking with 2.55min advantage to Christine Thorburn (USA).
