11 July 2008 - Kristin Armstrong defended her lead in the Cascade Cycling Classic. In the second race - a road race over 78,5 miles (approx. 126 km) finished the 34-year-old U.S. American fourth with a gap of 1.44 min to the winner Kristin Sanders. Armstrong started the ascent more than five minutes behind the front group of six riders and caught all but three before the line. Race leader Armstrong increased her overall advantage to Julie Beveridge to 47 seconds. As next, the time trial and a criterium is on the schedule of the Cascade Cycling Classic.
